Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.09%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a negative note on Tuesday.
Shares of Natco Pharma Ltd.(up 3.25 per cent), Ipca Laboratories Ltd.(up 2.8 per cent), Mankind Pharma Ltd.(up 2.05 per cent), Sanofi India Ltd.(up 1.69 per cent) and Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 1.68 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Lupin Ltd.(down 1.93 per cent), Biocon Ltd.(down 1.74 per cent), Laurus Labs Ltd.(down 1.52 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma Ltd.(down 1.39 per cent) and J B Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 0.87 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.09 per cent down at 21562.55.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 63.05 points at 23992.55, while the BSE Sensex stood down 166.33 points at 78593.07.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 19 ended in the green, while 31 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Zomato, Suzlon Energy and Reliance Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of S P Apparels, Indraprastha Med, Symphony Ltd, AYM Syntex and KPR Mill hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Sah Polymers, Valiant Laboratories, Morarjee Text, Focus Lighting and Tips Films hit their fresh 52-week lows.
