Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 1.98% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded positive around 10:24AM(IST)on Tuesday in an upbeat market.

Granules India(up 4.91 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(up 4.38 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma(up 4.38 per cent), Lupin(up 3.82 per cent) and Laurus(up 2.9 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Natco Pharma(down 0.02 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Pharma index was up 1.98 per cent at 12082.0 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 231.35 points at 15581.5, while the BSE Sensex was up 740.56 points at 52338.4.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 50 were trading in the green, while 0 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, MRPL, SAIL, Tata Power and Vedanta were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Globesecure Technologies Ltd., Rachana Infrastructure Ltd., Globe Intl. Carriers, Kohinoor Foods and SREI Infra Fin hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Vivimed Labs, Precision Metaliks Ltd., Marshall Machines, Krishna Defence and Allied Industries Ltd. and Future Consumer hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
