Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 1.33% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded positive around 11:07AM(IST)on Friday in an upbeat market.

Lupin(up 6.77 per cent), Biocon(up 3.03 per cent), Cadila Healthcare(up 2.32 per cent), Alembic Pharmaceuticals(up 2.09 per cent) and Strides Pharma Science(up 1.93 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Laurus(down 3.09 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Pharma index was up 1.33 per cent at 13964.45 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 53.1 points at 17910.35, while the BSE Sensex was up 132.76 points at 60117.46.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 38 were trading in the green, while 12 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, PNB, Tata Power, IRCTC and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Canara Bank , United Spirits, Stampede Cap(DVR), One Point One Soluti and Nahar Spinning hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while D K Enterprises Global Ltd., Felix Industries, SREI Infra Fin, Suvidhaa Infoserve Ltd. and CarTrade Tech Ltd. hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
