Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 1.25% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded positive around 11:21AM(IST)on Monday in a weak market.

Aurobindo Pharma(up 6.75 per cent), Strides Pharma Science(up 6.51 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(up 4.09 per cent), Granules India(up 4.02 per cent) and Alembic Pharmaceuticals(up 3.52 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Torrent Pharmaceuticals(down 1.62 per cent), Gland Pharma(down 0.16 per cent), Divis Laboratories(down 0.1 per cent), Natco Pharma(down 0.05 per cent) and Ipca Laboratories(down 0.03 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Pharma index was up 1.25 per cent at 13715.2 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 27.25 points at 17259.8, while the BSE Sensex was down 97.84 points at 57766.09.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 19 were trading in the green, while 31 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, SAIL, NALCO and JP Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Selan Expl Tech, Southern Petro, Jindal Drilling, TTK Healthcare and Balrampur Chini hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while DRC Systems India Ltd., Future Retail, Felix Industries, Akash Infra-Proj and JMT Auto hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
