Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 1.21% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded positive around 10:34AM(IST)on Monday in an upbeat market.

Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 2.78 per cent), Granules India Ltd.(up 2.58 per cent), Lupin Ltd.(up 2.31 per cent), Natco Pharma Ltd.(up 2.12 per cent) and Alkem Laboratories Ltd.(up 2.0 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Mankind Pharma Ltd.(down 0.4 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Pharma index was up 1.21 per cent at 20673.2 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 43.75 points at 24574.65, while the BSE Sensex was up 136.62 points at 80741.27.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 35 were trading in the green, while 15 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Tata Teleservices, IFCI and IRFC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Sportking India, North Eastern, MTNL, RPG Life Sci and Nitin Spinners hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Shrenik, Ortel Communications, Brightcom Group, Sanco Industries and Praxis Home Retail hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
