Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 1.1%
The Nifty Pharma index closed 1.1 per cent up at 21777.15.

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a positive note on Wednesday.
Shares of Granules India Ltd.(up 6.99 per cent), Gland Pharma Ltd.(up 4.03 per cent), Lupin Ltd.(up 2.65 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 2.52 per cent) and Aurobindo Pharma Ltd.(up 2.48 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Mankind Pharma Ltd.(down 1.35 per cent), J B Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 0.97 per cent) and Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.79 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 1.1 per cent up at 21777.15.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 93.86 points at 24951.15, while the BSE Sensex stood up 285.94 points at 81741.34.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 33 ended in the green, while 17 closed in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, GAIL and Reliance Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Fiberweb India, Shivam Autotech, Ind-Swift Labs, Torrent Power and J G Chemicals hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Focus Lighting, SecUR Credentials, Ravindra Energy, Baid Leasing and Equippp Social Impact hit their fresh 52-week lows.
