Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 1.07%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a positive note on Tuesday.

Shares of Laurus(up 4.86 per cent), Gland Pharma(up 4.0 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma(up 2.7 per cent), Cipla(up 2.24 per cent) and Granules India(up 2.11 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Pfizer(down 1.03 per cent), Natco Pharma(down 0.24 per cent) and Lupin(down 0.18 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.


The Nifty Pharma index closed 1.07 per cent up at 12993.75.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 114.65 points at 18716.15, while the BSE Sensex stood up 418.45 points at 63143.16.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 36 ended in the green, while 14 closed in the red.

Shares of Suzlon Energy, Reliance Power, Vodafone Idea, Zomato and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Signet Ind, Nagreeka Export, Shreyans Ind, Inox Wind Energy and Bombay Burmah hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Power & Instrument, Suumaya Lifestyle, Sahana System, Rachana Infrastructu and Kshitij Polyline hit their fresh 52-week lows.
