Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 1.06%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a positive note on Monday.

Shares of Granules India Ltd.(up 2.95 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 2.84 per cent), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(up 2.04 per cent), Abbott India Ltd.(up 1.98 per cent) and Ipca Laboratories Ltd.(up 1.68 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Mankind Pharma Ltd.(down 0.98 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.


The Nifty Pharma index closed 1.06 per cent up at 20641.55.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 21.66 points at 24509.25, while the BSE Sensex stood down 102.57 points at 80502.08.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 30 ended in the green, while 20 closed in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Tata Teleservices, IRFC and Rashtriya Chemicals were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of North Eastern, Sportking India, Antony Waste Handling, Sonam Clock and Nitin Spinners hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Shrenik, Baid Leasing, Brightcom Group, SecUR Credentials and Palred Technologies hit their fresh 52-week lows.
