Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.99% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded positive around 09:59AM(IST)on Tuesday in a weak market.

Cipla(up 2.85 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals(up 2.82 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences(up 1.96 per cent), Pfizer(up 1.96 per cent) and Biocon(up 1.73 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Laurus(down 1.79 per cent) and Gland Pharma(down 1.25 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.99 per cent at 13484.3 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 45.3 points at 16826.0, while the BSE Sensex was down 156.52 points at 56329.5.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 29 were trading in the green, while 21 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Ibull Housing Fin, Suzlon Energy, YES Bank and Bandhan Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Dangee Dums, Pashupati Cotspin, Sree Rayalaseema, Kothari Prod and West Coast Paper hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Vaidya Sane Ayurved Laboratories Ltd., PayTM, Akash Infra-Proj, CMI Ltd and Easun Reyrolle hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
