Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.91%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a positive note on Monday.
Shares of Zydus Lifesciences(up 3.1 per cent), Ipca Laboratories(up 2.42 per cent), Granules India(up 2.42 per cent), Lupin(up 1.59 per cent) and Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 1.46 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Sanofi India(down 1.09 per cent), Gland Pharma(down 0.36 per cent), Abbott India(down 0.29 per cent), Natco Pharma(down 0.26 per cent) and Glaxosmithkline Pharmaceuticals(down 0.22 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.91 per cent up at 12770.6.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 241.75 points at 18101.2, while the BSE Sensex stood up 846.94 points at 60747.31.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 44 ended in the green, while 6 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Suzlon Energy, IDBI Bank and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Prozone Intu Proper, Lambodhara Text, 3P Land Holdings, Rama Steel Tubes and Donear Ind hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Vikas Proppant & Gr, Jyoti Structure, RBM Infracon Ltd., MT Educare and Nureca Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week lows.
