Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.87% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded positive around 10:08AM(IST)on Monday in an upbeat market.

Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 6.99 per cent), Mankind Pharma Ltd.(up 3.47 per cent), J B Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 2.41 per cent), Gland Pharma Ltd.(up 1.71 per cent) and Cipla Ltd.(up 1.39 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Natco Pharma Ltd.(down 0.9 per cent), Sanofi India Ltd.(down 0.41 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 0.32 per cent) and Biocon Ltd.(down 0.07 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.87 per cent at 23205.2 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 120.96 points at 25911.9, while the BSE Sensex was up 292.82 points at 84837.13.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 39 were trading in the green, while 11 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, HFCL, SBFC Finance, JP Power and Zomato were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of United Polyfab Gujar, SBFC Finance, Bannari Amman, Optiemus Infra and V Mart Retail hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Fusion Micro Finance, Ankit Metal Pwr, Compuage Infocom, MEP Infrastructure and Rossell India hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
