Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.78%
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.78 per cent up at 15448.95.

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a positive note on Wednesday.
Shares of Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 5.85 per cent), GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 5.63 per cent), Natco Pharma Ltd.(up 4.51 per cent), Granules India Ltd.(up 4.15 per cent) and Aurobindo Pharma Ltd.(up 3.59 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.97 per cent), Ipca Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.94 per cent), Cipla Ltd.(down 0.91 per cent) and Gland Pharma Ltd.(down 0.82 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.78 per cent up at 15448.95.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 76.8 points at 20070.0, while the BSE Sensex stood up 245.86 points at 67466.99.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 31 ended in the green, while 19 closed in the red.
Shares of JP Power, Vodafone Idea, Indian Railway Fin, Suzlon Energy and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of NIIT Learning System, Silver Touch Tech, ITI Ltd, IOL Chemicals and Jocil Ltd hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Vaxtex Cotfab, Sungarner Energies, Penta Gold, Sahaj Fashions and Vasa Retail & Overse hit their fresh 52-week lows.
