Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.74% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded positive around 09:59AM(IST)on Tuesday in an upbeat market.

Laurus Labs Ltd.(up 3.48 per cent), Natco Pharma Ltd.(up 2.06 per cent), Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(up 1.52 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 1.51 per cent) and Biocon Ltd.(up 1.5 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Pfizer Ltd.(down 0.16 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.74 per cent at 16516.3 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 27.65 points at 21377.05, while the BSE Sensex was up 9.76 points at 71116.72.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 40 were trading in the green, while 10 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Indian Renewable, Indian Railway Fin and HFCL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Gallantt Metal, Gyscoal Alloys, Laxmi Cotspin, Sikko Industries and Syncom Form hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Bajel Projects, Penta Gold, Laxmi Goldorna House, Raj Rayon and The Grob Tea Company hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
