Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.7% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded positive around 10:24AM(IST)on Thursday in an upbeat market.

Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 1.23 per cent), Cipla(up 1.13 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences(up 1.05 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals(up 0.86 per cent) and Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 0.77 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Sanofi India(down 0.9 per cent), Alkem Laboratories(down 0.2 per cent), Gland Pharma(down 0.15 per cent), Biocon(down 0.08 per cent) and Ipca Laboratories(down 0.02 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.7 per cent at 12711.6 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 22.2 points at 18065.15, while the BSE Sensex was up 13.97 points at 60671.42.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 37 were trading in the green, while 11 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Suzlon Energy, PNB, Vodafone Idea and IOB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Kapston Facilities, Eurotex Ind, BLB Ltd., TVS Electronics and Archean Chemical Industries Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Jyoti Structure, Sumeet Ind, Paras Petrofils, Consol Const. and Sathavahana Isp hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
