Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.67%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a positive note on Monday.
Shares of Ipca Laboratories Ltd.(up 3.27 per cent), Abbott India Ltd.(up 2.58 per cent), Ajanta Pharma Ltd.(up 1.99 per cent), Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(up 1.96 per cent) and Laurus Labs Ltd.(up 1.94 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Mankind Pharma Ltd.(down 1.78 per cent) and Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 1.46 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.67 per cent up at 21771.15.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 307.95 points at 23658.35, while the BSE Sensex stood up 1078.87 points at 77984.38.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 42 ended in the green, while 8 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, IREDA, Ola Electric Mobilit and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Cura Tech, Gujarat Themis, Kaveri Seed Co., Swaraj Engines and Reliance Naval & Engg hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Gangotri Text, Reliance Comm, SecUR Credentials, Kesoram Inds. and Noida Toll Bridge Co hit their fresh 52-week lows.
