Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.64% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded positive around 11:15AM(IST)on Friday in an upbeat market.
Alkem Laboratories Ltd.(up 2.06 per cent), Laurus Labs Ltd.(up 1.87 per cent), Ipca Laboratories Ltd.(up 1.84 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 1.73 per cent) and Granules India Ltd.(up 1.44 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Sanofi India Ltd.(down 1.61 per cent), Gland Pharma Ltd.(down 0.83 per cent), Cipla Ltd.(down 0.67 per cent) and GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 0.26 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.64 per cent at 19248.15 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 0.81 points at 22513.85, while the BSE Sensex was up 8.72 points at 74236.35.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 23 were trading in the green, while 27 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Indian Renewable, JP Power and Reliance Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Arvee Laboratories, Indraprastha Med, SCI Land and Assets, Bhartiya Intnl and Indo Tech Trans hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Bodhi Tree Multimed, 3rd Rock MultiMedia, GIR Natureview, Lakshmi Precis and Shyam Telecom hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
