Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.63% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded positive around 10:44AM(IST)on Thursday in an upbeat market.

Zydus Lifesciences(up 1.54 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals(up 1.38 per cent), Ipca Laboratories(up 1.37 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 1.21 per cent) and Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(up 1.16 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Abbott India(down 1.16 per cent), Alkem Laboratories(down 0.81 per cent), Pfizer(down 0.78 per cent), Biocon(down 0.56 per cent) and Granules India(down 0.21 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.63 per cent at 13442.55 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 44.4 points at 17082.8, while the BSE Sensex was up 149.87 points at 56969.26.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 28 were trading in the green, while 21 were in the red.

Shares of TV18 Broadcast, Alok Industries, Vodafone Idea, Adani Power and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Pix Trans, InfoBeans Tech, Manaksia Steels, Manaksia Ltd and Veranda Learning Solutions Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Karda Const, Zee Learn, Future Consumer, FutureLifestyleFash and Future Retail hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
