Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.61% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded positive around 11:25AM(IST)on Wednesday in an upbeat market.

Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 4.81 per cent), Granules India Ltd.(up 4.4 per cent), GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 2.89 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma Ltd.(up 2.85 per cent) and Natco Pharma Ltd.(up 2.66 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Gland Pharma Ltd.(down 0.88 per cent), Cipla Ltd.(down 0.79 per cent), Ipca Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.62 per cent), Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.57 per cent) and Abbott India Ltd.(down 0.15 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.61 per cent at 15422.45 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 26.8 points at 20020.0, while the BSE Sensex was up 84.28 points at 67305.41.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 26 were trading in the green, while 23 were in the red.

Shares of Indian Railway Fin, Suzlon Energy, JP Power, Vodafone Idea and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of PDS Multi&Fash, Ajanta Pharma, KEC Int., Cadsys(India)Ltd. and Maks Energy Solution hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Vaxtex Cotfab, Ratnaveer Precision, Sahaj Fashions, Penta Gold and IKIO Lighting hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
