Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.53% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded positive around 10:14AM(IST)on Tuesday in a weak market.

Natco Pharma(up 4.34 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(up 3.37 per cent), Alkem Laboratories(up 2.93 per cent), Alembic Pharmaceuticals(up 1.19 per cent) and Pfizer(up 1.16 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Divis Laboratories(down 1.09 per cent) and Torrent Pharmaceuticals(down 1.03 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.53 per cent at 13861.95 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 58.95 points at 17994.45, while the BSE Sensex was down 262.0 points at 60349.74.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 31 were trading in the green, while 19 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, SBI Cards, YES Bank, JP Power and Adani Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Hitech Corporation, Krishana Phoschem, Genus Paper Boards, Zuari Agro Chem and Southern Petro hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while P E Analytics Ltd., GMR Power and Urban Infra Ltd., Felix Industries and Swaraj Suiting Ltd. hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
