Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.52% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded positive around 11:10AM(IST)on Friday in a weak market.

Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 3.61 per cent), Natco Pharma Ltd.(up 2.46 per cent), Lupin Ltd.(up 1.87 per cent), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(up 1.03 per cent) and J B Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 0.82 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Sanofi India Ltd.(down 1.34 per cent), Biocon Ltd.(down 1.29 per cent), Gland Pharma Ltd.(down 1.1 per cent), Mankind Pharma Ltd.(down 0.98 per cent) and Abbott India Ltd.(down 0.5 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.52 per cent at 19224.85 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 43.16 points at 22605.05, while the BSE Sensex was down 263.82 points at 74347.29.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 21 were trading in the green, while 29 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, BHEL, IFCI and NHPC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Century Enka, Taj GVK Hotels, Univastu India, Arrow Greentech and BHEL hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Adroit Infotech (PP), Melstar Info, Signpost India, Osia Hyper Retail and GIR Natureview hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
