Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.51% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded positive around 11:10AM(IST)on Wednesday in an upbeat market.

Biocon(up 3.1 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma(up 1.75 per cent), Pfizer(up 1.71 per cent), Granules India(up 1.69 per cent) and Cadila Healthcare(up 1.65 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Gland Pharma(down 0.94 per cent) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 0.75 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.51 per cent at 13545.75 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 158.1 points at 17734.95, while the BSE Sensex was up 552.53 points at 59415.1.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 39 were trading in the green, while 10 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, PNB, SAIL and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Mallcom(India), Nahar Poly Film, Everest Ind, Jainam Ferro Alloys(I)Ltd. and Safari Ind hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Precision Metaliks Ltd., Dynamic Services & Security Ltd., Shri Ram Switchgears and Hind Nat Glass hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
