Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.44% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded positive around 11:22AM(IST)on Thursday in a weak market.

Abbott India Ltd.(up 5.71 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences Ltd.(up 2.71 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 2.34 per cent), Alkem Laboratories Ltd.(up 1.92 per cent) and Cipla Ltd.(up 1.64 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Ajanta Pharma Ltd.(down 2.07 per cent), Ipca Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.45 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(down 0.88 per cent), Mankind Pharma Ltd.(down 0.68 per cent) and Lupin Ltd.(down 0.24 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.44 per cent at 21965.65 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 89.4 points at 23606.9, while the BSE Sensex was down 301.11 points at 77970.17.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 18 were trading in the green, while 32 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Reliance Power, IDFC First Bank, Swiggy and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Senores Pharmaceutic, Vimta Labs, KRN Heat Exchanger, Pansari Developers and Supreme Holdings hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Rajshree Polypack, Ankit Metal Pwr, AGS Transact Tech, Swiggy and Morarjee Text hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
