Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.26%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a positive note on Monday.
Shares of Pfizer(up 3.48 per cent), Sanofi India(up 2.18 per cent), Ipca Laboratories(up 1.55 per cent), Gland Pharma(up 1.41 per cent) and Alkem Laboratories(up 0.95 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Zydus Lifesciences(down 1.53 per cent), Divis Laboratories(down 1.4 per cent), Laurus(down 1.27 per cent), Granules India(down 0.77 per cent) and Aurobindo Pharma(down 0.54 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.26 per cent up at 12934.5.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 59.75 points at 18593.85, while the BSE Sensex stood up 240.36 points at 62787.47.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 25 ended in the green, while 24 closed in the red.
Shares of Suzlon Energy, Zomato, Reliance Power, Tata Steel and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of The Hi-Tech Gears, Anisha Impex, Mazagon Dock Ship, Anlon Technology Sol and Banswara Syntex hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Viji Finance, Quicktouch Technolog, Power & Instrument, Bombay Metrics Suppl and Advitiya Trade India hit their fresh 52-week lows.
