Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.18% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded positive around 10:40AM(IST)on Thursday in an upbeat market.

Natco Pharma Ltd.(up 2.53 per cent), Granules India Ltd.(up 1.02 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(up 0.82 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma Ltd.(up 0.73 per cent) and Lupin Ltd.(up 0.67 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Mankind Pharma Ltd.(down 1.34 per cent), Ipca Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.88 per cent), Alkem Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.73 per cent), Biocon Ltd.(down 0.45 per cent) and Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 0.41 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.18 per cent at 21432.5 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 0.05 points at 24752.5, while the BSE Sensex was up 37.63 points at 81349.95.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 23 were trading in the green, while 27 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, IFCI, MMTC, Reliance Power and Sagility India were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of IFB Agro, Quality Power Electr, Shree Global, Shanti Overseas and AXISCADES Engg Tech hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Lasa Supergenerics, Bharat Rasayan, Orchid Pharma, Borana Weaves and Navkar Builders hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
