Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index 1.73% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded around 10:34AM(IST)on Friday in a weak market.

Granules India Ltd.(down 5.06 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 4.74 per cent), Lupin Ltd.(down 3.45 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma Ltd.(down 3.03 per cent) and Natco Pharma Ltd.(down 2.42 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Pharma index was 1.73 per cent at 21844.25 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 346.16 points at 24202.55, while the BSE Sensex was 1147.72 points at 80142.24.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 2 were trading in the green, while 48 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Tata Teleservices, Suzlon Energy and Hind Const Co were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Orbit Exports, DCM Ltd, Rudrabhishek Ent, Siyaram Silk and IZMO hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Odigma Consultancy, Ecos(India)Mobilit, Bafna Pharma, Mas Fin Services and U Y Fincorp hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
