Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index 1.07% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded around 10:23AM(IST)on Monday in a weak market.

Cipla Ltd.(up 0.96 per cent), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(up 0.95 per cent), Abbott India Ltd.(up 0.83 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences Ltd.(up 0.36 per cent) and Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(up 0.33 per cent) were among the top gainers.

J B Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 3.87 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(down 3.62 per cent), Biocon Ltd.(down 2.35 per cent), Laurus Labs Ltd.(down 2.07 per cent) and Granules India Ltd.(down 1.87 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Pharma index was 1.07 per cent at 22562.65 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 334.6 points at 23969.75, while the BSE Sensex was 1035.1 points at 78689.02.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 6 were trading in the green, while 44 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, PNB, Suzlon Energy, YES Bank and Indian Oil Corp. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Shree Rama Multi, Elgi Rubber Co, OrientalAromatics, Siyaram Silk and Kitex Garments hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Deepak Builders & En, CMI Ltd, Birlasoft, Raymond and Axita Cotton hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
