Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index 0.86%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a note on Friday.
Shares of Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(up 1.37 per cent), Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(up 0.45 per cent) and Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 0.06 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Biocon Ltd.(down 4.12 per cent), Natco Pharma Ltd.(down 4.06 per cent), Mankind Pharma Ltd.(down 2.97 per cent), Laurus Labs Ltd.(down 2.34 per cent) and Cipla Ltd.(down 2.3 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.86 per cent at 22501.85.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 364.21 points at 23587.5, while the BSE Sensex stood 1176.46 points at 78041.59.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 4 ended in the green, while 46 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Zomato, Vishal Mega Mart, JP Power and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of GIC, Hisar Metal Ind, Sambhaav Media, Mohit Inds and Salzer Electro hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Balaxi Pharma, Sanghi Ind, Digjam, Odigma Consultancy and Bharat Gears hit their fresh 52-week lows.
