Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index 0.85% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded around 11:06AM(IST)on Tuesday in a weak market.

Aurobindo Pharma Ltd.(up 2.44 per cent), Lupin Ltd.(up 2.33 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences Ltd.(up 1.41 per cent), Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(up 1.13 per cent) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(up 1.07 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Biocon Ltd.(down 1.38 per cent), Gland Pharma Ltd.(down 1.09 per cent), Ajanta Pharma Ltd.(down 0.74 per cent) and Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 0.46 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Pharma index was 0.85 per cent at 23439.05 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 88.56 points at 23556.35, while the BSE Sensex was 351.26 points at 77896.87.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 21 were trading in the green, while 29 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, ITI Ltd, IRFC, YES Bank and Rites were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Asian Hotels, Atlas Cycles, Indo Thai Sec, Lupin and Aarvee Denims hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Barak Valley, Arshiya, Mamata Machinery, Universus Photo and Suraksha Diagnostic hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
