Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index 0.82% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded around 10:39AM(IST)on Tuesday in an upbeat market.

Biocon Ltd.(up 5.79 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences Ltd.(up 4.07 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 1.86 per cent), Ajanta Pharma Ltd.(up 1.79 per cent) and Natco Pharma Ltd.(up 1.72 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Gland Pharma Ltd.(down 0.35 per cent) and Lupin Ltd.(down 0.03 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Pharma index was 0.82 per cent at 23261.90 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 117.71 points at 23733.75, while the BSE Sensex was 289.93 points at 78254.92.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 40 were trading in the green, while 10 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Zomato, YES Bank, ONGC and ITI Ltd were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Goldiam Intnl, Zota Healthcare, Cantabil Retail, UPL (PP)and Paradeep Phosphates hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Spacenet Enterprise, Jai Corp, PVR, Mahalaxmi Fabric Mil and Mamata Machinery hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
