NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a note on Tuesday.
Shares of Natco Pharma Ltd.(up 1.26 per cent), Granules India Ltd.(up 0.97 per cent), Gland Pharma Ltd.(up 0.93 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 0.44 per cent) and J B Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 0.42 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Aurobindo Pharma Ltd.(down 2.49 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 2.41 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences Ltd.(down 1.81 per cent), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.76 per cent) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(down 1.15 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.81 per cent at 22074.55.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 332.25 points at 24336.0, while the BSE Sensex stood 1064.12 points at 80684.45.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 1 ended in the green, while 49 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, YES Bank, Zomato and PC Jeweller were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Indian Card Clothing, Kalyani Steels, Enviro Infra Enginee, RPP Infra Proj and Rudrabhishek Ent hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Odigma Consultancy, Uttam Sugar Mills, Spandana Sphoorty, Avenue Supermart and Asian Paints hit their fresh 52-week lows.
