Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index 0.55%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a note on Monday.
Shares of Mankind Pharma Ltd.(up 4.02 per cent), Granules India Ltd.(up 3.21 per cent), J B Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 3.13 per cent), Laurus Labs Ltd.(up 2.9 per cent) and Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 2.42 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Abbott India Ltd.(down 0.89 per cent), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.54 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(down 0.47 per cent), Alkem Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.34 per cent) and Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 0.34 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.55 per cent at 22182.40.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 141.55 points at 23344.75, while the BSE Sensex stood 454.11 points at 77073.44.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 29 ended in the green, while 21 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Zomato, Tata Teleservices and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Apollo Micro Systems, Renaissance Global, Ddev Plastiks Ind, Atlas Cycles and ARSS Infra hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while SterlingWilson Solar, JP Associates, SKIL Infrastructure, Poddar Housing and Eros Media hit their fresh 52-week lows.
