Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index 0.2%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a note on Wednesday.
Shares of Laurus Labs Ltd.(up 2.15 per cent), Ajanta Pharma Ltd.(up 2.12 per cent), J B Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 1.85 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 1.75 per cent) and Gland Pharma Ltd.(up 1.73 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.41 per cent), Alkem Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.12 per cent), Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.43 per cent) and Ipca Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.14 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.2 per cent at 23459.75.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 98.11 points at 23742.9, while the BSE Sensex stood 368.4 points at 78507.41.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 36 ended in the green, while 14 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, SJVN, Suzlon Energy, YES Bank and Sagility India were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Taj GVK Hotels, Authum Investment, Lords Chloro, Bajaj Healthcare and Camlin Fine Sc hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Akme Fintrade(India, Mamata Machinery, Abans Holdings, Hardwyn India and Palred Technologies hit their fresh 52-week lows.
