Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index 0.1%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a note on Tuesday.
Shares of Gland Pharma Ltd.(up 13.78 per cent), Biocon Ltd.(up 1.55 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 1.53 per cent), Cipla Ltd.(up 1.05 per cent) and Natco Pharma Ltd.(up 0.92 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Alkem Laboratories Ltd.(down 2.21 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences Ltd.(down 1.6 per cent), Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.54 per cent), Sanofi India Ltd.(down 0.79 per cent) and Aurobindo Pharma Ltd.(down 0.73 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.1 per cent at 22661.25.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 217.96 points at 24213.3, while the BSE Sensex stood 694.39 points at 79476.63.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 39 ended in the green, while 11 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Ola Electric Mobilit, PNB, YES Bank and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Tilaknagar Ind, Waaree Energies, Orient Technologies, Chaman Lal Setia and Elgi Rubber Co hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Ola Electric Mobilit, MT Educare, Garuda Construction, Premier Poly and Arman Financial hit their fresh 52-week lows.
