Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index 0.07%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a note on Friday.
Shares of Granules India Ltd.(up 2.17 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 1.17 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(up 1.05 per cent), Cipla Ltd.(up 1.05 per cent) and Laurus Labs Ltd.(up 0.89 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Mankind Pharma Ltd.(down 2.48 per cent), Biocon Ltd.(down 2.05 per cent), Natco Pharma Ltd.(down 1.71 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma Ltd.(down 1.71 per cent) and Sanofi India Ltd.(down 1.62 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.07 per cent at 22542.25.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 51.15 points at 24148.2, while the BSE Sensex stood 55.47 points at 79486.32.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 23 ended in the green, while 27 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, ITI Ltd, Suzlon Energy, Tata Steel and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of JSW Holdings, Tera Software, Avalon Technologies, Adroit Infotech and Innova Captab hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Aarti Inds, Satin Creditcare, Ceigall India, Brainbees Solutions and Aditya Vision hit their fresh 52-week lows.
