Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 1.25%
The Nifty IT index closed 1.25 per cent down at 35423.25.

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index closed on a negative note on Thursday.
Shares of Tech Mahindra(up 0.63 per cent) and HCL Technologies(up 0.24 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, L&T Technology(down 3.18 per cent), Wipro(down 2.14 per cent), Tata Consultancy(down 1.9 per cent), Larsen & Toubro Infotech(down 1.89 per cent) and Coforge(down 1.68 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty IT index closed 1.25 per cent down at 35423.25.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 168.1 points at 17639.55, while the BSE Sensex stood down 575.46 points at 59034.95.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 23 ended in the green, while 27 closed in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, JP Power and Tata Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Shree Ren Sug, Vaishali Pharma, Uma Exports Ltd., AMD Industries and BLS Int. Services hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while GMR Power and Urban Infra Ltd., Debock Sales & Mktg, Shakti Pumps, Innovative Tyres & T and Shri Ram Switchgears hit their fresh 52-week lows.
