Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 1.11%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index closed on a negative note on Monday.

Shares of Oracle Financial Services Software Ltd.(up 1.13 per cent), Persistent Systems Ltd.(up 0.48 per cent) and Coforge Ltd.(up 0.39 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 1.61 per cent), Wipro Ltd.(down 1.57 per cent), Infosys Ltd.(down 1.55 per cent), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 1.33 per cent) and HCL Technologies Ltd.(down 1.13 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.


The Nifty IT index closed 1.11 per cent down at 37273.7.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 67.55 points at 25082.3, while the BSE Sensex stood down 247.01 points at 82253.46.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 22 ended in the green, while 28 closed in the red.

Shares of JP Power, Vodafone Idea, Ola Electric Mobilit, RattanIndia Power and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of JP Power, Anand Rathi Wealth, Soma Textiles, Faze Three Ltd and Allied Blenders hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while SKIL Infrastructure, Picturepost Studios, Marshall Machines, Capital Trust and Magnum Ventures hit their fresh 52-week lows.
