Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.97% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded negative around 10:09AM(IST)on Monday in a weak market.

Infosys(up 0.26 per cent), HCL Technologies(up 0.09 per cent) and Coforge(up 0.07 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Mindtree(down 2.67 per cent), L&T Technology(down 2.53 per cent), Larsen & Toubro Infotech(down 2.45 per cent), Wipro(down 1.99 per cent) and MPhasis(down 1.49 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty IT index was down 0.97 per cent at 26333.9 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 282.0 points at 17045.35, while the BSE Sensex was down 847.3 points at 57251.62.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 5 were trading in the green, while 45 were in the red.

Shares of Suzlon Energy, Tata Steel, YES Bank, Vodafone Idea and JP Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Andhra Cements, Harsha Engineers International Ltd., Fourth Dimension Sol, Bombay Super Hybrid and Shree Tirupati Balaj hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while United Drilling, Globe Textiles(Ind, Ameya Precision Engineers Ltd., Viviana Power Tech Ltd. and Ishan International Ltd. hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
