Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.75% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded negative around 10:45AM(IST)on Wednesday in a weak market.

MphasiS Ltd.(up 0.73 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 1.66 per cent), LTIMindtree Ltd.(down 0.91 per cent), Persistent Systems Ltd.(down 0.89 per cent), L&T Technology Services Ltd.(down 0.83 per cent) and Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 0.75 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty IT index was down 0.75 per cent at 31479.6 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 116.1 points at 19412.65, while the BSE Sensex was down 398.94 points at 65113.16.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 9 were trading in the green, while 41 were in the red.

Shares of Suzlon Energy, IOB, JP Power, Bank of Maharashtra and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of SaskenTech, Apollo Micro Systems, MPS Ltd, Dynamatic Tech and HLV Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Yatra Online, FutureLifestyleFash, Dangee Dums, Shree Ram Proteins and Manoj Vaibhav Gems N hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
