Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.61%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index closed on a negative note on Monday.

Shares of LTIMindtree Ltd(up 2.08 per cent), L&T Technology(up 0.36 per cent), MPhasis(up 0.35 per cent) and Coforge(up 0.21 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Infosys(down 1.85 per cent), Wipro(down 0.8 per cent), Tata Consultancy(down 0.64 per cent), Tech Mahindra(down 0.59 per cent) and Persistent Systems(down 0.25 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.


The Nifty IT index closed 0.61 per cent down at 30411.1.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 89.45 points at 17764.6, while the BSE Sensex stood down 334.98 points at 60506.9.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 18 ended in the green, while 32 closed in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, PNB, Tata Steel and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Uniphos Enter, Chaman Lal Setia, Mold Tek Tech, Cadila Healthcare and M&M Financial hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Adani Transmission, Nahar Poly Film, Nahar Spinning, Visaka Ind and FairchemSpeciality hit their fresh 52-week lows.
