Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.61% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded negative around 10:24AM(IST)on Monday in an upbeat market.

Tech Mahindra(up 0.31 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Persistent Systems(down 2.23 per cent), Infosys(down 1.1 per cent), Coforge(down 0.65 per cent), LTIMindtree Ltd(down 0.54 per cent) and Tata Consultancy(down 0.47 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty IT index was down 0.61 per cent at 28526.6 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 76.25 points at 18345.25, while the BSE Sensex was up 264.67 points at 61602.48.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 5 were trading in the green, while 44 were in the red.

Shares of Suzlon Energy, YES Bank, UCO Bank, IOB and Shree Ren Sug were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Rajshree Sugars, Sakthi Sugars, Ponni Sugars, Kothari Sugars and Ugar Sugar Work hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Vikas Proppant & Gr, Inox Green Energy Services Ltd., Cerebra Integrat, Sintex Inds. and ICDS Ltd. hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
