Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.6% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded negative around 10:30AM(IST)on Wednesday in a weak market.
L&T Technology(up 0.75 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Wipro(down 0.94 per cent), Persistent Systems(down 0.9 per cent), LTIMindtree Ltd(down 0.9 per cent), Infosys(down 0.84 per cent) and Tech Mahindra(down 0.76 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty IT index was down 0.6 per cent at 28788.15 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 78.25 points at 18154.3, while the BSE Sensex was down 255.02 points at 61039.18.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 12 were trading in the green, while 37 were in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, Indian Railway Finance Corporation Ltd. and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of SecUR Credentials, BLB Ltd., Radiant Cash Management Services Ltd., Krishna Defence and Allied Industries Ltd. and Jindal Worldwide hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Arihant Academy Ltd., Moxsh Overseas Educon Ltd., Indiabulls Enterprises Ltd., SKS Textiles and Sumeet Ind hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
