Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.58% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded negative around 10:34AM(IST)on Friday in an upbeat market.

Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 0.29 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Infosys Ltd.(down 1.45 per cent), Coforge Ltd.(down 1.33 per cent), L&T Technology Services Ltd.(down 0.47 per cent), HCL Technologies Ltd.(down 0.45 per cent) and LTIMindtree Ltd.(down 0.37 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty IT index was down 0.58 per cent at 37631.3 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 5.46 points at 21712.5, while the BSE Sensex was up 38.27 points at 71466.7.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 22 were trading in the green, while 28 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Zomato, Vodafone Idea, NHPC and JP Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Orchid Pharma, Tree House Edu, TRF Ltd, Apollo Pipes and Digicontent hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Stampede Cap(DVR), EPACK Durables, NACL Industries, Credo Brands Marketi and Fedbank Financial hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
