Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.52%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index closed on a negative note on Monday.

Shares of Infosys(up 0.11 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Persistent Systems(down 1.88 per cent), LTIMindtree Ltd(down 1.78 per cent), Tech Mahindra(down 1.35 per cent), Coforge(down 1.08 per cent) and MPhasis(down 0.99 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.


The Nifty IT index closed 0.52 per cent down at 30891.5.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 4.95 points at 18701.05, while the BSE Sensex stood down 33.9 points at 62834.6.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 25 ended in the green, while 24 closed in the red.

Shares of Suzlon Energy, YES Bank, JP Power, PNB and Tata Steel were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Satin Creditcare, Vasa Retail & Overse, Indian Terrain, TTK Healthcare and JK Lakshmi Cement hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Aakash Exploration, Dhanuka Realty, Quintegra Sol, Rajvir Ind and Wanbury Ltd hit their fresh 52-week lows.
