Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.5% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded negative around 10:09AM(IST)on Monday in an upbeat market.

Infosys(up 0.45 per cent), Tata Consultancy(up 0.44 per cent) and L&T Technology(up 0.43 per cent) were among the top gainers.

HCL Technologies(down 5.8 per cent), MPhasis(down 0.91 per cent), Coforge(down 0.85 per cent), Mindtree(down 0.78 per cent) and Larsen & Toubro Infotech(down 0.65 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty IT index was down 0.5 per cent at 38632.4 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 30.35 points at 18286.1, while the BSE Sensex was up 76.53 points at 61299.56.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 26 were trading in the green, while 24 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, JP Power, Suzlon Energy, HFCL and Alok Industries were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of InfoBeans Tech, Vivo Collaboration Solutions Ltd., Khaitan Chem, Metro Brands Ltd. and Precision Wires hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Asian Hotels(W)hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
