Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.45% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded negative around 11:15AM(IST)on Friday in an upbeat market.

Mindtree(up 0.15 per cent) and Tata Consultancy(up 0.07 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Infosys(down 1.1 per cent), Tech Mahindra(down 0.67 per cent), Wipro(down 0.46 per cent), Coforge(down 0.42 per cent) and MPhasis(down 0.33 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty IT index was down 0.45 per cent at 38484.65 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 147.1 points at 17351.05, while the BSE Sensex was up 426.94 points at 58221.26.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 40 were trading in the green, while 10 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, IDFC, Suzlon Energy, RBL Bank and IDFC First Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Vivo Collaboration Solutions Ltd., MSP Steel, CMS Info Systems Ltd., BGR Energy and Swelect Energy hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while HEC Infra Projects, Innovative Tyres & T, RBL Bank, Mas Fin Services and Jet Freight Logistic hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
