Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.45% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded negative around 10:45AM(IST)on Thursday in a weak market.

Persistent Systems(up 0.73 per cent), LTIMindtree Ltd(up 0.17 per cent) and Coforge(up 0.11 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Tata Consultancy(down 0.93 per cent), Wipro(down 0.81 per cent), MPhasis(down 0.78 per cent), L&T Technology(down 0.67 per cent) and Tech Mahindra(down 0.39 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty IT index was down 0.45 per cent at 28761.05 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 39.3 points at 18246.1, while the BSE Sensex was down 128.96 points at 61644.82.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 15 were trading in the green, while 35 were in the red.

Shares of Suzlon Energy, Zomato, YES Bank, Piramal Pharma and FSN E-Comm(Nykaa)were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Revathi Equip, Onward Tech, Andhra Cements, Divgi Torqtransfer and BEW Engineering hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Power & Instrument, Sahyadri Ind, SEL Manufact, BEML Land Assets and Embassy Office hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
