Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.44% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded negative around 10:09AM(IST)on Thursday in an upbeat market.

HCL Technologies(up 0.68 per cent), Persistent Systems(up 0.62 per cent) and MPhasis(up 0.47 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Infosys(down 1.03 per cent), L&T Technology(down 0.81 per cent), Tata Consultancy(down 0.74 per cent), Coforge(down 0.52 per cent) and Wipro(down 0.37 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty IT index was down 0.44 per cent at 28728.35 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 24.65 points at 18780.55, while the BSE Sensex was up 36.47 points at 63264.98.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 34 were trading in the green, while 16 were in the red.

Shares of Reliance Power, Suzlon Energy, Vodafone Idea, Zomato and SJVN were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of GKW Ltd, Essar Shipping, Uma Exports, Chembond Chem and Poly Medicure hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Rachana Infrastructu, Kore Digital, GHCL Textiles, Sintex Plastics Tech and Infollion Research hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
