Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.39%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index closed on a negative note on Thursday.
Shares of Larsen & Toubro Infotech(up 1.65 per cent), L&T Technology(up 1.53 per cent), Mindtree(up 1.17 per cent), Coforge(up 0.41 per cent) and Tata Consultancy(up 0.11 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Tech Mahindra(down 2.85 per cent), Wipro(down 1.65 per cent), HCL Technologies(down 0.72 per cent), MPhasis(down 0.44 per cent) and Infosys(down 0.39 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty IT index closed 0.39 per cent down at 35583.65.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 143.6 points at 17873.6, while the BSE Sensex stood down 433.13 points at 59919.69.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 9 ended in the green, while 41 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Zomato Ltd., Bank of Baroda and Tata Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Monte Carlo Fashion, Silly Monks Entertai, Patel Integrat(PP), DC Infotech and Lakshmi Finance hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Vikas WSP, P&G Health, Strides Shasun, Walpar Nutritions Ltd. and IRIS Business Servic hit their fresh 52-week lows.
