Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.37% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded negative around 10:39AM(IST)on Wednesday in a weak market.

Infosys Ltd.(up 0.25 per cent) were among the top gainers.

LTIMindtree Ltd.(down 1.96 per cent), Persistent Systems Ltd.(down 1.6 per cent), Wipro Ltd.(down 0.85 per cent), L&T Technology Services Ltd.(down 0.75 per cent) and MphasiS Ltd.(down 0.64 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty IT index was down 0.37 per cent at 34675.0 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 124.25 points at 23433.65, while the BSE Sensex was down 284.14 points at 77017.0.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 6 were trading in the green, while 44 were in the red.

Shares of Indus Towers, Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, GMR Infra and Rashtriya Chemicals were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Kalyani Forge, Windsor Machine, LE Travenues Techno, Tirupati Forge and Prajay Engg hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while SecUR Credentials, We Win, Madhav Marbles, Bang Overseas and GIR Natureview hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
