Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.36%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index closed on a negative note on Friday.

Shares of L&T Technology(up 0.45 per cent) and Tech Mahindra(up 0.33 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, MPhasis(down 1.04 per cent), Coforge(down 0.95 per cent), Infosys(down 0.76 per cent), Wipro(down 0.67 per cent) and Mindtree(down 0.52 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.


The Nifty IT index closed 0.36 per cent down at 27745.8.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 3.35 points at 17539.45, while the BSE Sensex stood up 36.74 points at 58803.33.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 15 ended in the green, while 35 closed in the red.

Shares of Reliance Power, JP Power, Suzlon Energy, Zomato Ltd. and Tata Tele were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of EIH, Royal Orchid, Omax Autos, GMM Pfaudler and Lokesh Machines hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Kridhan Infra, FutureLifestyleFash, Future Retail, IMP Powers Ltd and CSL Finance hit their fresh 52-week lows.
